  • Pregnant women (all ages) - 60mcg
  • Lactating women (all ages) - 70mcg

There is also a tolerable upper limit for selenium - this is the maximum that can be safely taken of this mineral before it produces serious and toxic side effects:

  • Infants (0-6 months) - 45mcg
  • Infants (7-12 months) - 60mcg
  • Children (1-3 years) - 90mcg
  • Children (4-8 years) - 150mcg
  • Children (9-13 years) - 280mcg
  • Children (14-18 years) - 400mcg
  • Adults (>19 years) - 400mcg
  • Pregnant women (all ages) - 400mcg
  • Lactating women (all ages) - 400mcg
