Interactions with Medications and Supplements
The following are the medications and supplements that are more likely to cause a reaction with sodium supplements:
- Bisacodyl
- Colchicine
- Cortisol
- Diuretics
- Furosemide
- Lithium
- Neomycin
- Oestrogen
- Phenylbutazone
- Progesterone
All of the medications above cause sodium levels to become elevated and cause fluid retention, so should not be taken with sodium supplements. The sodium supplements will cause further elevation of sodium and further bloating. People taking the above medications should not take sodium supplements.
