As only very small amounts of vitamin B2 (riboflavin) are stored in the kidneys and liver, it may take up to 4 months for a deficiency to show up.
Early deficiency vitamin B2 (riboflavin) symptoms are:
- Anaemia
- Blood shot eyes
- Blurred vision
- Eyes that tire easily
- Inflammation of the tongue and lips
- Insomnia
- Itching and scaling of the skin in many areas (dermatitis)
- Sensitive eyes to light
- Sore throat
- Sore tongue
- Sores and cracks on the corner of the lips
- Trembling
- Weakness
